Timothy “Doc” Acklin is a certified Athletic Trainer who has worked in the New Mexico healthcare system for over 30 years. Doc joined Mayfield High School in the Fall of 1985 as the Head Athletic Trainer and a Science instructor. Doc is member of the New Mexico State University Athletic Training Education Program and served as one of the first clinical instructors of the program. Doc also served on the NMATA Board of Directors for all but two years of the organization's existence. Doc has served on the convention committee, three terms as the Southern Representative, one term as the Secretary/Treasurer, two terms as the Vice President, and two terms as the President.  He continues to be instrumental in the training and education of all student athletic trainers as well serving a mentor to many currently in the field. Doc retired as the Head Athletic Trainer at Mayfield High School in 2012 and was inducted into the New Mexico Hall of Fame in 2013. He continues his work on the NM Athletic Trainers Advisory Board for New Mexico Athletic Trainers as a policy and practice advocate
